Tasos Papagiannakos email to Carol Petranek, Jan. 23, 2012:: "My grandmother Helen Alatsas was from Anavriti village but after she married she moved to Kastori, a village located to the north of Lakonia. Her husband (my grandfather) was Anastasios Karagiannis. The parents of my grandmother were Konstantinos Alatsas and Maria Ladis. My great-grandmother Maria Ladis died in 2000. This family consisted of Helen (d. 2007 lived in Kastori), Panagiotis (Potis) (d. 2010 lived in Anavriti and Sparti), Catherine (lives in Sparti), Froso (lives in Sparti), Stavros (lives in NY) and Stelios (lives in NY). My family is very closely connected with all the members of this family. Stavros and Stelios Alatsas visit Sparti every Summer and we have the chance to meet them very often. I think it’s a coincidence that the name of one of the daughters of Stavros Alatsas is Vivian Alatsas but as much as I know all the Alatsas families from Anavriti are related to each other.
