Lester Pardue, 81, died Sunday, June 27 at Kindred Hospital inGreenwood, Indiana. He was a resident of Franklin, Indiana andformerly lived in Raymond.
Mr. Pardue was born Nov. 24, 1922 in Lemon Cove. His parents were Johnand Flossie (Landers) Pardue. He married Alma Jean Vincent on June 12,1942. She preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 2003.
Mr. Pardue is survived by his son, James L. (Coco) Pardue ofBellingham, Wash.; two daughters, Judith (John) Mentzer of Franklin,Ind., and Brenda (Dan) Kirkley of Portland, Ore; sister, ElsieMetzler; four grandchildren, James S. Mentzer II, John M. Mentzer Jr.,Chris Kirkley and Alisha Schwartz; five great-grandchildren, Austin,Anya, Josie, Fiona and Sam. He is preceded in death by four brothers,Frank, Newell, Art and Edward Pardue; and sister, Hazel Pifer.
He was formerly employed by Rainbow Bakery, Neilsen?s Creamery inTulare and retired as the San Joaquin Valley regional manager forKnudsen?s Creamery in Tulare.
Mr. Pardue enjoyed running, golfing, ranching, building and he was anavid golfer. He had a beautiful smile and loved to whistle. He was aveteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II.
Services will be held July 6 at the Forest Lawn Wilson St. PierreFuneral Home in Indiana.
