a dairy farmer locally, where he was employed for his keep. He then
joined the MerchantMarines in WWII. He married and held several jobs
at different times welding, incl. Granite City Steel, Anheuser Busch,
and lived with his wife in Michigan and St. Louis,MO before settling
in Lenzburg. He then became a member of the AFL-CIO and workedconstruction out of Local 13 in New Athens,IL. He was a member of the
Knights of Columbus and also kept financial books for his union local.
