Former Resident of Johnston City Dies in Florida
Mrs. Dora G. Peterson, 94, former Johnston City resident, died at herhome
in Miami, Fla. at 4 am Friday. She had been ill three weeks.
Born in Williamson County, south of Johnston City, Mrs. Petersonresided in
that area until 25 years ago when she went to Miami. She was the widowof
Alonzo Peterson, who died in 1936.
Survivors are four sons, Birt Peterson, Johnston City, and John, Benand
Frank Peterson all of Miami; four grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren
and two great-great-grandchildren.
The body will lie in state at the Murman-Wilson funeral home inJohnston
City after 4 pm Sunday and will be taken at 1 pm Monday to the First
Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at the church at 3 pm
Monday. Rev. Charles R. Walker, pastor, will officiate. Burial will bein
Rose Hill Cemetery, near Marion.
She was married to Alonzo "Lon" Peterson on 13 Oct 1880 in WilliamsonCounty, Illinois.(1176) Alonzo "Lon" Peterson was born in Mar 1859 inIllinois.
