History of Our Branch of The Adams Family says that he was Lieutenantof the town of Medfield, and at the time of the burning anddestruction of that settlement by the Indiana under King Philip, onMonday morning, February21, 1676, was shot down at his own door-step.He wife fled to the minister's house for protection. She was mortallywounded the same night by the accidental discharge of a gun, and died,as a result, three days after.
