Michael Georg EHRHART
(Abt 1824 - Jan 1886)
At The Perry Historians is a small book called The Pauper School Children Lists by Harry A. Focht. The names were found in the tax assessment records for the years 1820 to 1840 and show names of children whose parents were not able to pay for their schooling. In 1831 in Centre Township, with no parent named were:
David Erehart aged 9 years
Michael Erehart aged 6 years
Sarah Erehart aged 5 years
This matches names and ages of three of Michael's children.
Much info this family per Perry Historians. Per note in Perry County Democrat, son Thompson resided in Roanoke, VA.
According to the bio of D.M. Ehrhart, Michael was a Lutheran minister.
"Churches Between the Mountains" a History of the Lutheran Church,Rev. D.H. Focht, published 1862. Copied at Lenig Library 27 May 1992,on page 251 states that Michael G. Earhart was confirmed on May 1,1842.
