Various trees at ancestry say John married Mary Rush at Philadelphia, PA, in 1745. Some say he was born Laurel, KY and some say Essex, VA, both say 1713. Some have death of 1773, which can't be right since he signed his will in 1774. Most say he died in Goochland Co., VA. The trees also list Robert Campbell Crow as a son, though there is no Robert in John's will. Since John Crow is not an unusual name, it sounds like not all of the events or places are actually this man. He could have been living in Berkeley in 1774 and died in Goochland, though. And I have not proven that Mary Rush was his wife, though others do say it.

Notes

The facts point to Mary Rush, daughter of Thomas RUSH and Esther CRISPIN, as the wife of John Crow. She was born 27 Nov 1714 in Byberry, Philadelphia, PA, m. ____ Crow and "settled with her husband in Virginia" [1,2,3,4]

Pennsylvania archives records list a John Crows married Jan. 1745. (no day). Pennsylvania marriage licenses between Dec. 1742 and May 1746 only recorded the names of the male applicants.[1] If this is the correct John Crow then Mary Rush would have been about 31 at the time of that marriage.

John Crow was married in Philadelphia in 1745. John witnessed the will of Thomas CRISPIN in Philadelphia on Apr 30, 1749 [5] and Thomas Crow was born Dec 14, 1749.[6]

John Crow's will lists a daughter named Esther which is the name of Mary Rush's mother.

The Rush family name appears in the descendants of John and Mary Crow: Mary Rush Crow b. 1785 Aug 29 (granddaughter) and George Rush Crow, b. 1832 Sep. 26 (great-grandson), Frank Rush Crow (ggreat-grandson).

No death date has been uncovered for Mary Rush Crow. However, since Thomas sold John's land to Joseph NOURSE in Oct 1791, it is likely she died before that date.
