"Last Rites Given Mrs. Schabarker
Ennis - Funeral services were conducted Thursday for Mrs. MinnieSchabarker, 87-year-old McAllister woman who died Monday of last weekof shock and a weak heart after being injured in a car accident. Thelast rites were at McAllister with Rev. Myron White officiating.Burial, under the direction of teh Raper Funeral Home, was in theMeadow Creek cenetery beside the grave of her husband, George, whopreceded her in death 51 years ago.
During the service, Paul Love sang "Good Night Here - Good Morning UpThere" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Berneice Barnett.Casket bearers were all grandsons: Lloyd McDowell, Fay McDowell, MackMcDowell, George Schabarker, Dan Segota and Roy Krauss.
Mrs. Schabarker was born Minnie Helen Buell, oldest daughter of Austinand Flora Buell, in Rockford, Ill., January 12, 1873. In 1889 thefamily moved to Montana and settled in Meadow Creek. On Christmas day,1894, she was married to George Schabarker.
To this union five children were born. She made her home on a ranchnear McAllister until 13 years ago, when she went to live with adaughter, Mrs. Maurice McDowell.
Always interested in community affairs she was a charter member of theMcAllister Welfare club.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Fred M.Schabarker and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schabarker of Ennis; a son-in-law anddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice McDowell of McAllister; two sisters,Mrs. Clara A. Scanlon of Butte and Mrs. Gertrude Pendleton of LosAngeles; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Anna Whalen of Butte; sevengrand-children, 19 great grandchildren and three great greatgrandchildren; and also several nieces and nephews in Montana,Washington and California."
