Sherman Crookshank, head, 46 (1883-84), married, age at first marriage 41, born VA both parents born VA, foreman - railroad, rents for $10.
Not positive same man, as current age isn't right, but since first marriage was about 5 years previous, and he is born VA, it is probably him. After finding the earlier census info April 2013, I believe it is the same man.

There is a Sherman C Crookshank at 1325 Wilkins in 1949, 1951, and 1952 Bakersfield City Directories - images at ancestry.com.

The Bakersfield California, Friday, Feb 26, 1954:
"Crookshank, Sherman - Funeral services have been scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today in the Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara funeral home for Sherman Crookshank, 88-year-old retired Southern Pacific railway track foreman of 1325 Wilkins Dr., who died Feb. 19 in a local hospital. The Rev. Hollister B. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. The deceased was a native of Nebraska. He had lived in Bakersfield for the past 10 years. Survivors include a nephew, Steve Crookshank, of Bakersfield."
This doesn't sound like the right man if the years in Bakersfield was correct..
