Capt. George FAIRBANKS

Per the Fairbanks book: George "came with his father from England and resided in Dedham until about 1657, when he removed to the southern part of Sherborn (afterward Medway and now Millis.) He was the first settler there, and was an esteemed citizen and one of the selectmen, and a member of the Artillery Company (Ancient and Honorable). He was drowned Jan. 10, 1682. 'See previous biographical sketch'. He married, "the 26 of the 8 mo., 1646" Mary Adams of Dedham, who died Aug. 11, 1711, in Mendon, Mass., probably at the home of her son-in-law, William Holbrook."
