According to Frank Winter, the first child in this family appears to have been born in Washington D.C. and was buried there. Listed as "Child of B. F. Surby", in Congressional Cemetery in August of 1866, in the Public Vault (a temporary vault used to store bodies) and then shipped to IL for burial in Sept. 1866. Name and sex of the child are unknown.
