In Memory of Mrs. Lucinda Eggers Again our hearts are made sad by the angel of death invading our ranks and taking an aged member. Mrs. Lucinda J. Eggers was born in Johnson Co. Tenn, June 18, 1832. December 25, 1847, she was married to Abner Eggers at Knoxville,Tennessee, by Rev. Samuel Patton. She professed faith in Christ September, 1872, and united with Pleasant Home Baptist Church. She was baptized by the Rev. J.J.L. Sherwood. She was a consistent, faithful member until her death, Nov. 24, 1902. She was a kind, devoted wife and mother, a strong advocate of the cause of Christ in her walk as well as her talk. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them." "Let her own works praise her." Her home was always a home for ministers. She will be missed much in her home, in the church and community. Our loss is her eternal gain. She leaves behind a sainted husband and a number of children who have the deep sympathy of a host of friends and relatives. May we all exemplify her life and be ready when the summon comes to us to quit the walks of men that we like she may be ready and willing to give up this world of trials for a home in that many mansioned house whose builder and maker is God.
