The Piqua Daily Call (Piqua, Ohio) on 17Apr 1972 mentions that "Mrs.Homer (Olive) Buchanan was recently released from Dettmer Hospital andis now convalescing at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr.and Mrs. Omer Thompson, 5480 Cindy Dr., Dayton."

The Piqua Daily Call (Piqua, Ohio) on 26 July 1973 has this:
"Mrs. Buchanan 90th Birthday Party Guest
Mrs. Forest T. Groves, Piqua, was hostess for the 90th birthdaycelebration of Mrs. Elmer Buchanan, 608 Robinson, here.
Attending the dinner in Mrs. Buchanan's honor were Mr. and Mrs. HowardBuchanan, Marquette, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. William J. Meyers, Dayton;Miss Jill Thompson and Jeff Lee, Clayton; and Mrs. Edward Morlock, allof Piqua.
Afternoon tea guests included Mrs. Buchanan's sisters, Mrs. HomerBuchanan, Covington; and Mrs. Emery Rhoades of Clayton; Mr. and Mrs.Lloyd Buchanan; and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Buchanan, Troy.
Names of several guests were inadvertently omitted from the account ofMrs. Buchanan's birthday in Wednesday's Daily Call." Copy in file.

"Covington - Olive Routson Buchanan, 97, of 301 N. High, died Saturdayat 9 p.m. at the Moses Nursing Home.
Born In Miami County, Nov. 10, 1878, she was the daughter of Henry andSusan Schaffer Routson.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the AlphaGarden Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank O'Roark (Onda), McAllen,Texas; Mrs. Omer Thompson (Rosalee), Dayton; a son, Lloyd, of Lima; 11grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; andtwo sisters, Ada Buchanan, Piqua, and Glenna Rhoades, Gettysburg.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the UnitedPresbyterian Church, the Rev. Frank Gready officiating. Burial will bein Highland Cemetery.
Calling hours today are 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. at the Pearson FuneralHome, and Tuesday at the church until time of services."

"Covington - Mrs. N. [sic] W. Buchanan celebrated her 95th birthdaySunday with a party at her home, 301 N. High.
Mrs. Buchanan was born and reared in Miami County and has lived at hercurrent residence 60 years.
She is the mother of six children: Lloyd, Lima; Mrs. Omer Thompson(Rosalee), Dayton; Ralph Buchanan, Troy; Mrs. F. E. O'Roark (Onda),McAllen, Texas. Two Children, Mrs. J. R. Arendali (Lois) and GeorgeRichard, are deceased. She has 12 grandchildren and 25great-grandchildren. Mrs. Buchanan has two sisters, Mrs. ElmerBuchanan, Piqua, and Mrs. Glenna Rhoades, Gettysburg.

The Piqua Daily Call (Piqua, Ohio) on March 19, 1976, has this:
"Member's will contains bequest to area church
Troy - First Presbyterian Church of Covington will receive a bequestof $100 from the estate of the late Olive R. Buchanan,Covington,offered for probate Monday.
Mrs. Buchanan also left $100 to Highland Cemetery in Covington for theupkeep of the Buchanan lot.
She nominated her daughter, Onda O'Roark, McAllen, Texas, as executrixof the will. Others beside her who will also share equally in theestate are Lloyd W. Buchanan, Lima, a son; Rosalee Thompson, WestCarrollton, a daughter; and five grandchildren who will inherit theirshares through their deceased parents. They are listed as Ronald L.Arendall, Columbus; Judith Davis and Elaine Alexander, both ofCovington; and Roland and Marvin J. Buchanan, both of Troy."
From the above, it appears that one of the daughters was previouslymarried to a Mr. Arendall.

Same paper, March 27, 1976 has a legal notice:
"Notice is hereby given that Rosalee Thompson and Judy Davis akaJudith Davis have been appointed and qualified Co-Executrices of theestate of Olive R. Buchanan, late of Miami County, Ohio, deceased, bythe Probate Court of said County, No. 55704(?)[image blurred-may notbe the right number]. Signed Richard A. Goater, Probate Judge, March17,1976. McCulloch, Felger, Fite & Guttmann, Attys."

Same paper, May 13, 1976, has a notice of a public auction for Olive'sestate, to be held May 15. It contains a lengthy list of both"modern" and "old" items of furniture, etc., to be auctioned. Copy infile.

Same paper May 25, 1976, in real estate transactions, lists: "Olive R.Buchanan by co-executrices to David T. Powell, et al, Lot, Covington."
