ALLEN M. BUCKNER III
Allen M. Buckner III, 52, the son of Jessie Brown Buckner, Lexington, and Col. Allen M. Buckner, Winchester, died at 1 p.m. Saturday in Lexington.
He was a United States Army veteran. He attended the University of Kentucky School of Landscape Architecture and was a certified Chief Instructor with the NRA. In addition, Buckner was the Bluegrass Boy Scout Association scout master of the inner city troop, founded at Eastside Baptist Church. He was an Eagle Scout and created the SEA Scouts of Kentucky. He was member of First Christian Church.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Buckner, Winchester; two sons, Allen M. Buckner IV, Birmingham, Ala., and Thomas M. Buckner, Athens, GA.; one brother, Zachary B. Buckner, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and one sister, Mary Buckner Powers, Birmingham.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Edgington-Taylor Funeral Home by Dr. William S. Davis. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bill Kennon, David Sipple, Barry Sipple, William Davis, Daniel Pelfrey, David Rogers, J. B. Bush and Montey Mountz.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Midland Trail District of the Bluegrass Memorial Fund of Allen Buckner III, 415 N. Broadway St. Lexington, Ky. 40508.
