They farmed in Edwardsburg, MI for several years before moving a few miles south to Elkhart, Indiana where had a house in town and also a farm just south of Elkhart.
She died at her home, 1009 Princeton St, Elkhart. The funeral was held at her home. Her husband, Samuel, had died five years earlier.
They had had four children of whom only one reached adulthood, Sidney E. Swigart.
