John Prather b. 1760 signed a document promising to marry Nancy Neff, after his father (Charles Prather) had passed away, since he would not approve of the marriage. Instead, when John's father passed, John married a Mary Blair. Nancy took him to court because he broke the marriage bond and they settled out of court.
