John Prather b. 1760 signed a document promising to marry Nancy Neff ,after his father (Charles Prather) had passed away, since he would not approve of the marriage. Instead, when John's father passed, John married a Mary Blair. Nancy took him to court because he broke the marriage bond and they settled out of court. Documents mysteriously disappeared from the docket file at the courthouse and the only thing showing there is that there was an out of court settlement. -- Karen, PRATHER-L, 11 Jul 2007
