John Ranck and his wife, Barbara Schumacher, immigrated to Lancaster County from France, arriving aboard the Mortonhouse on 19 August 1729. They took up residence at Fettersville in Earl Township near today's Route 322. They were French Huguenots in Europe, but joined other denominations in Pennsylvania.
