Galen Royer attended Juniata College, Mount Morris College and Northern Indiana Normal School, graduating with an A.B. and a D.D. Galen taught at Mount Morris College from 1887 to 1897. From 1897 to 1918, he served as Secretary General of the Missionary Board of the Church of the Brethren. From 1918 to his retirement, Galen was Chaird of Missions and Camp. Religion at Juniata College. In retirement, he lived in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Galen Royer traveled widely, including Europe, Persia, India and China. He edited the "Missionary Visitor," and wrote religious and Sunday School books.
