Nathaniel Swingley

Nathaniel Swingley came in 1836 to Ogle County, Illinois. He and Samuel M. Hitt were among the original "Maryland Colony" settlers in Ogle County. They took a claim to the site that became Mount Morris. They returned to Washington County, Maryland to get their families and tie up business there. In the Spring of 1837, they returned to Ogle County with their families.
