Jacob Miller, Jr. became a naturalized British citizen on 14 February 1729/30. About the same time, or a year later, depending on whether the date used the old or the new calendar, Jacob received 159 acres of his father's land, southwest of the Strasburg Mennonite Meetinghouse. On 31 May 1739, Jacob bought 200 acres in Strasburg. The log house at present-day 95 Beddington Lane was built on Jacob's land.
