Lucius Edwin "Lee" Humphrey

Lucius "Lee" Humphrey headed the copy desk at the Rocky Mountain News for 25 years and at the Denver Post for 10 years. He bought a ranch in Evergreen, Colorado in 1920, and moved his family to the ranch in 1921. He named the ranch "Kinnikinnik" and commuted by Model T Ford from the ranch to the office in Denver. After Buffalo Bill's death in 1917, Lucius purchased Buffalo Bill's horse, Whitey. In 1974, the ranch was placed on the National Register for historical property.
