Notes
Marriage
Hazel Hammer met Carl Paddock at a dance while attending a Women's Club Convention with her mother, Mary (Hammer) Humphrey in Denver, Colorado. Mother Mary sought to prevent Hazel and Carl from becoming a couple by taking Hazel on a long trip through Europe. The effort failed, and Hazel and Carl wed.Endnotes
