Individual Details
Hans Huber
( - 1750)
Who Hans Huber married is unclear. Jane Best believes his one wife is Margaretha Koch, while Allan Garber is sure he married Barbel Lier, and may have wed Margaretha Koch (died after 1746). Obviously, this confuses who the mother is for each of Hans Huber's six children. I have chosen to use Barbel Lier as Hans Huber's only wife, but note the alternative possibilities.
According to Jane Best, Hans Huber and Margaret Koch came to America on the Mary Hope, that left London on 29 June 1710 and arrived in Philadelphia in September 1710. They were Swiss Mennonites.
Allan Garber does not mention when Hans came to America, nor with whom. Garber does note that Hans patented 200 acres in present-day Earl Township on 23 June 1721.
