Notes
Marriage
Henry Hershey and Veronica Sanvely were married at the parsonage of the Holy Lutheran Church in Lancaster, Pennslyvania. It was selected as a neutral site. Veronica was Mennonite, but Henry was not. Henry was not permitted to be married in the Mennonite meeting house because he was "a free thinker."Burial
Henry Hershey was buried first "in the Hershey Reformed Mennonite Cemetery, Bachmanville Road, east of the town of Hershey, but Milton had his father's body moved to the Hershey Cemetery in 1920." See James Kendig's article, July 2005, in the Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage. The move of the buried body may explain why both Derry and Hershey, Pennsylvania are given as the cemetery site.Endnotes
