Funeral services were in St. anne's Church, Somerset, Rev. John Rivard officiating, Monday, October 27, for Mrs. John Germain who died at her home Wednesday, October 22. Pallbearers were Marie Constant, Martin Germain, Raymond and Herbert Fagnan, Gerald Kieckhoefer and Norman Mante. Interment was in the church cemetery.
A daughter of James and Caroline Hughes, Alta Mae Hughes was born September 12, 1880 at Waterford, Minnesota, coming to Somerset about 1896. She was married Janaury 7, 1908 to John Germain. Her children are Florence Germain, at home; Francis of St. Paul, Pearl (Mrs. Bert Barnes), Milwaukee, and Vern, New Richmond. Also surviving her are Eldon Hughes, New Richmond, Miles of Hudson, Almon of Roberts, Walter, St. Paul, and nine grandchildren.
