Mrs. Agnes (Casanova) Ryan, 722 Third street, died at Hudson Memorial hospital Friday, July 26, after an illness of several months.
Mrs. Ryan, daughter of Joseph A. and Catherine (Karras) Casanova, was born in Hudson January 6, 1898. After completing school, she was employed as a legal secretary for Haven and Ashley, attorneys at law, until her marriage February 6, 1939 to Peter E. Ryan of New Richmond.
They resided in New Richmond until Mr. Ryan's death in 1946, when Mrs. Ryan returned to Hudson where she has been employed as a secretary for Casanova Beverage company.
Mrs. Ryan was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and a member and former officer of the Council of Catholic Women. She was also church organist for many years.
The Requiem High Mass for the dead was offered by Father David Ross King, Monday, July 29, in St. Patrick's Church, at 10 a.m. with interment in St. Patrick's cemetery.
The following nephews of Mrs. Ryan served as pallbearers: John V. Casanova, Racine; Robet J. Casanova, Milwaukee; William A. Casanova, Racine; Tony Casanova, Hudson; Jerry Baumgartner, Rosemount; and Donald DeWindt, Oconto.
Agnes Ryan is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. N. J. Delmnico (Christine), Leonard J. Casanova and Raymond B. Casanova, all of Hudson, Dr. John R. Casanova, Watertown, Wis., Mrs. L. G. Baumgartner (Katherine), Rosemount, Minn.
Swanson Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
