Dr. John R. Casanova, 83, of Watertown, and a former Hudson resident, died early Sunday morning at St. Joseph's hospital in Milwaukee.
Services were Wednesday, January 9, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown with interment in the church cemetery.
Dr. Casanova was born in Hudson February 8, 1901, the son of Joseph A. and Catherine Karras Casanova. He attended local schools and was graduated from Hudson High School in the class of 1918. Later he attended the dental school at Marquette University in Milwaukee, graduating in 1923, and then set up practice in Watertown where he was a dentist for 54 years.
On August 3, 1931, he was married to Leanor White in New Lisbon. Surviving are his wife Leanor; two daughters, Betty of Wauwatosa and Mrs. Donald (Claire) DeWindt of Oconto; four sons, John and William of Racine, Robert and Dr. James of Wauwatosa; 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a brother Raymond of Hudson, and a sister, Katherine Baumgartner of Rosemount, Minnesota.
