Individual Details
Rachel Eddy
(1754 - 10 Jun 1833)
I have a Rachel Eddy in my tree. She was born 19 Sept 1756 not 1774. She married Jocob Jr. Prowdy in 1774.
She was the daughter of Obediah Eddy (1722) and Lois Hicks (1722). She was born after her father had been killed at Crown Point in the French and Indian war.
Her siblings were Ephram (1744), James, Obediah, and Considerit
Epharim (son of Obediah) and his wife Rachel Tucker had a daughter Rachel born in 1769. James (son of Obediah) and his wife Sarah Newton had a daughter Rachel born in 1800.
Note: Spencer is over 45.5 miles as the crow flies from Norton, MA. Need more proof for this claim.
Can't remember if it was in Spencer, MA records or Norton, but she was listed with mother and brothers and mother was noted as widow.
It'll be a while before I am settled (all in storage now), so I can't verify it till I have the document in front of me. (In a massive legal mess.)
But there was no doubt it was the correct Rachel.
