Obediah Eddy
(10 Mar 1751 - 24 May 1826)
Obediah Eddy was an early settler of Woodford, Vermont. He was one of a group that took the freemen's oath at a town meeting held March 10, 1792. He took part in town proceedings, serving as a lister in 1797 and treasurer in 1799. Obediah was a prominent man in the town's affairs, but refused to serve when he was elected as the first representative in the township (History of Bennington County, Vt. Aldrich, Lewis Cass ed. Military
Obadiah served as a private under Capt John King's Co, Col Timothy Walker's Regt; muster roll dated Aug 1, 1775. After the Revolution, he and many of his neighbors from the Norton-Taunton, Ma area relocated to Woodford Vt. to work the iron mines.Death
