In the name of God Amen; I Bernet Dewitt Sen. of the County of Montgomery and state of Kentucky being in perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of man and that it is appointed for all men once to die and after that the judgment, I shall dispose of my Estate as followeth, that is to say I give unto my oldest son James Dewitt one Shilling Sterling--
Item: I give and bequeath unto my five children Sally Dewitt, Bernet Dewitt, Peggy DeWitt, Martin Dewitt and Rebecca Dewitt five and fourty and three quarters of Land where are i now live to be equally divided amongst them and likewise all the rest of my Estate both Horses, Cattle, Sheep and Hogs with all and every other Article of my moveable Estate which I "posses" together with the lumber the same to be equally divided so that the said five children before mentioned may receive equal protions of my whole and sole Estate, both lands, goods and chattles in consequince(?) where of i do here by appoint my wife Deborah Dewitt my Executrix and John Kent my Executor of this my last Will and Testament forever disannuling (?) sig. all and everyother will or wills before written making and ordaining this to be my very last Will and Testament and whole Desire.
In witness where of i have here unto set my hand and affixed my Seal the twenty fourth day od December and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight.

This last Will amd Testament of Barnett Dewitt Deseased was proven by the Oath of John Summers and James Lee to of the witnesses then to subscribed and ordained to be recorded. Deborah Dewitt the Executrix there in named (?) qualified a probate granted and ? and ? given agreeable to Law
