Mr. and Mrs. Max Specht became the parents of their firstborn, a son, who made his appearance at the John McDonald hospital on Thursday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Specht entertained at a family dinner June 10 honoring their son Philip following his confirmation at S. S. Peter and Paul Lutheran church. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Heiken and George Specht all of Anamosa, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heiken, Mr. and Mrs. George Seehusen, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Goldenstein and family of Independence, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Thalacker, and family of Edgerton, Wis. Rev. and Mrs. William Thalacker and family of West Branch, and John Thalacker of Tripoli. (1962)

Monticello Express December 29, 1938 Page 5..._Thalacker Bride Of Max Specht at Wisconsin Rapids
A very lovely wedding was solemnized Monday, December 26, at 10:30 am at, the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., when Miss Loretta Thalacker became the bride of Max Specht of Monticello. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Chester Thalacker of Iron Mountain, Mich., a brother of the bride.
The bridal couple was attended by Miss Loretta Specht of Detroit, Mich,, a sister of the bridegroom, and Edwin Thalacker of Waverly, a brother of the bride.
Preceding the ceremony Mrs. James Plzak of Wisconsin Rapids sang 'Today, O Lord, We at Thine Altar Stand," and the Rev Arnold Thalacker of Monticello sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd."
The bride was attired In a floor length white satin gown. She wore a long white veil with a short train, held in place on her head with a wreath of baby chrysanthemums. She carried an arm bouquet of roses and 'mums. Miss Specht wore a floor length blue chiffon gown with silver accessories and carried an arm bouquet of roses and mums.
Following the ceremony a dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents.
The bride is a daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Paul Thalacker of Wisconsin Rapids. She is a graduate of the Wisconsin Rapids high school and attended Milwaukee State Teachers college. Mr. Specht is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Specht of Monticello. He is a graduate of the Monticello high school after which he attended Iowa State college at Ames.
Mr. and Mrs. Specht will make their home on a farm in Castle Grove township.
Those in attendance at the wedding from Monticello were, Mr. and Mrs. George F. Specht, Fred Heiken, Rev. and Mrs. Arnold Thalacker, Ruth Mary and Billy, and George Clary of Tipton.
