Individual Details
William McCulloh of Piedmont
(Bef 1700 - 1743)
He was also known as William McCulloh of Piedmount, William McCulloch of Camoley, Co Armagh on 19 Jun 1736 in Ballysavage, Antrim, Ulster, Ireland. He died 1743 in Piedmont, Antrim, Ulster, Ireland
William McCullock of Piedmont, will probated in 1743, is the brother of James McCulloh and Old Henry, all sons of James McCulloch of Grogan by his second wife. From references to him in other wills abstracted in the Registry of Deeds and Wills for Dublin, his death is estimated as between 1736, when he was named as a trustee in the will of James Crawfuird (Crawford) and 1745 when his eldest son was mentioned as James McCulloh of Piedmont in the will of William's brother, James McCulloh. William McCulloch of Piedmont was also listed as trustee in the 1728 will of John Shaw.
Locating the probate of the will for William of Piedmont confirms that he died prior to the death of his brother James, which accounts for his son James being known as James of Piedmont in his uncle's will.
