Marriage
Anamosa Eureka, (Anamosa, Iowa( Thursday, August 9, 1934Miss Minnie Eiben of Central City and George B. Dirks of Monticello were married at Anamosa, Saturday. They were attended by Vera Walton, sister of the bride, and Elmer Dirks, brother of the bridegroom. The bride wore a white taffeta gown and a veil, and the bridesmaid wore a rose crepe gown. After the visit at A. Century of Progress in Chicago they will make their home in Anamosa. They are giving a wedding dance at the floral hall on the Monticello fair grounds Wednesday night, and one at Columbia hall, Stone City, Thursday night.

Services were held Oct. 31 for Minnie Dirks, 74 at SS. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with burial at Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Walter Malkewitz officiated at the services.
Minnie Dirks, Springville, died Oct. 30 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Minnie Elizabeth Eiben was born July 6, 1911, in Linn County, the daughter of John and Louise Rohn Eiben. She received her education at the Linn County schools, and married George B. Dirks on Aug. 4,1934, in Anamosa. The couple farmed for several years, and the past 40 years have made their home in Springville.
Mrs. Dirks is survived by her husband: a son, Floyd Dirks of Anamosa; a daughter, Marilyn Coleman of Phoenix, Ariz., a brother, Louis Eiben of Central City; three sisters, Vera Drehouse of Venice, Fla., Neva Baker of Hartshorn, Mo., and Ada Tietz of Vinton. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Casketbearers were Wayne Dirks, Steve Dirks, Jim R. Baker, David Dirks, Don Eiben and Ron Eiben. Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa was in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.
