A David Hawkins was among the privates listed in a Kentucky Company organized for service during the war of 1812. This company was commanded by Captain Edward Rawlings, and was attached to the Regiment commanded by Lt-Col's Nicholas Miller and Benjamin Wright, Kentucky Militia. It's muster in date was March 8, 1813. The unit was composed mainly from the Elizabethtown, Hardin Co. area.

I suspect you already have William Hawkins b. Jan 1813 in Hardin CO, d. 1894 in Edgar CO IL? He married Charlotte Drake who was born in 1808 in Preble CO OH and d. Edgar CO IL. I THINK WIlliam's father was a David Hawkins 1760-1820. b. in Hardin CO KY. Apparently had a son named David b in 1786 d. 1840.
