Anton Eilers

The parents of Mrs. Matthiessen wore Anton and Talke Eilers, who lived at Sante Dukedom, Oldenburg, Germany at the time of her birth August 16th 1837. In 1850, the family came to America, and settled in Illinois (Monticello Express, 1906).
Gerhard Eilers, is the son of Anton and Talke Eilers, who came to this country in 1850, and settled in Lee Co., Ill., but removed to Jones Co. in 1856. Renk is the son of Anton and Talke Eilers, who came to this country in 1850; they lived in Lee Co., Ill., six years, and came to Jones Co. in 1856; his father settled near Monticello, where he still resides.

Being of lawful age, sound in Minds and Memory, but in view of the uncertainty of life, I hereby make ordain & publish this my last Will and Testament revoking all former wills by me [] or executed:Item 1st I give bequeath t my daughter Ann Eliza Gesine Eils. born in 1837 (and married to Frederick Matthiessen) the following lots in Langworthy viz. Item It is my wishes that if after my death and the payment of the above legacies with all charges & expenses of burial there still remain a surplus of money or property then my executor divide the sum equally between my daughter Anna Eliza Matthiessen and my son Renke Eils share and share alike
I hereby appoint my trusty friend Harm Harms my executor of this my will and relive him from all Boil as I have full confidence in his integrity to perform this trust

Anton Eilers, the venerable father of Gerhard Eilers, Renk Eilers and Mrs. J. F. Matthieson, died at his home near Langworthy yesterday. Mr. Eilers was seventy-two years old, and had been a respected resident of Jones county since 1850. Funeral services Saturday.Burial
