Miss Garnet Eilers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Eilers, and Harvey Heiken, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. A. Heiken of Monticello, were united in marriage Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock, in a candlelight service at the Lutheran church in Castle Grove township. The Rev. Arnold Thalacker performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of a group of friends and relatives. The wedding march was played by Miss Irene Heiken, sister of the bridegroom. The couple were attended by Miss Kathleen Eilers. sister of the bride, and George Eiben, cousin of the bridegroom. The ushers were Max Specht and Marion Balster. The bride wore her mother's wedding dress of white silk net over white satin. Her tulle veil fitted her head in cap shape, and she carried an arm bouquet of bride's roses. The bridesmaid's dress was blue moire taffeta, and her flowers-were deep pink bridesmaid's carnations. Mrs. Heiken graduated from the Monticello high school with the class of 1935. The bridegroom has been employed on his father's farm seven miles west of Monticello, where they will be at home to their friends after December 1st. A dance and reception was held Monday evening in Zimmerman's hall in honor of the couple. A large pre-nuptial shower was given in the K. C. hall Friday evening, honoring the young couple with more than one hundred and fifty guests present. The evening was spent playing cards. At midnight refreshments were served.
