PRAIRIEBURG - Mary D. Pillard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fay Pillard of Monticello, became the bride of Paul B. Eiben, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Eiben of Waubeek, in a double ring ceremony Thursday, June 2, at 9:30 a.m. i St. Joseph's Catholic church at Prairieburg.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The Rev. A. L. Zachar performed the ceremony. Altar boys were Darrell and Jackie Kintzle.
The bride wore a gown of white with points of Chantilly lace over a slipper satin skirt, yoke of nylon net and lace bodice with long tapered sleeves that buttoned at the wrist, and self covered buttons down the back. She wore a finger tip veil of nylon net caught to a tiara of pearls and carried a white prayer book, a gift of the bridegroom, which was topped with an orchid and white carnations with white streamers of lily of the valley.
MATRON OF HONOR
Lorraine Franklin of Marion, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Betty Pillard, sister of the bride, and Dorothy Vanourney of Central City. Their gowns were of Chantilly lace and net over taffeta in colors of lavender, yellow and nile green. They wore headbands of net and rhinestones to match their gowns. They carried colonial bouquets of white carnations. Gaylee Drahouse and Janice Kronlage were flower girls. Barry Tritle was ring bearer.
William Pillard, brother of the bride, was best man. Groomsmen were Deny Klein of South English and Lester Oellrich of Lisbon. Ushers were Merle Pillard and Donald Eiben.
MUSIC FOR SERVICE
Music for the service was played by Mrs. Bridge McCusker of Coggon; Eddy and Paul Brady sang.
The bride's mother wore an aqua dress with white accessories, and the bridegroom's mother wore a dress of navy blue with navy accessories. Both wore corsages of pink carnations.
A reception was given in the church hall at noon for about 275 guests. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at Armar.
TRIP TO WISCONSIN
The couple left on a wedding trip to the Wisconsin Dells, the bride wearing a grey and white dress with white accessories and an orchid corsage.
After June 6 they will live at Central City, Mrs. Eiben was employed by St. Luke's hospital and Mr. Eiben is employed by Allis Chalmers at Cedar Rapids.

Obituary Feb 11, 1992:Paul B Eiben,59. of Prairieburg, died Tuesday in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 am Saturday, St Joseph's Catholic Church, Prairieburg. Burial: Mt Clark Cemetery, Central City, with military rites by Coggon American Legion Post 362. Survivors include his wife, Mary; 5 daughters, Colleen Eiben of Hiawatha, Faye Dudley of Paris, Iowa, Victoria Kircher of Lafayette, Colo, Paula Poltz of Norway, Iowa and Juanita Eiben of North Liberty; 2 sons, Douglas Paul of Central City and Gregory of Marion; his mother, Mary of Marion; and 2 brothers, Robert of Marion and Donald of Central City. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Donna. Born the son of Louis and Mary Van Slyke Eiben on Feb 10, 1933 in Anamosa, he married Mary D Pillard on June 2, 1955 in Prairieburg. Paul served with the Army during the Korean War and was employed by Harnischfeger for 35 years. He was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church, Prairieburg, and the Knights of Columbus. The Rev John R Hussmann will officiate.
