Death
Gesina Null Funeral Held Last MondayFuneral services for Mrs. Gesina Behrends Null were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the Goettsch funeral home and at 2 o'clock from St. John's Lutheran church. Both services were in charge of Rev. R. P. Young, pastor. Burial was made at the Sand Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Null was a daughter of Wilke and Hilke Behrends. Her maiden name was Gesina Behrends. She was born Dec. 14, 1871, at Wittmund, Ostfriesland, Germany, and came to the United States with her parents when a child. The family settled on a farm on Bowen's Prairie.
She was married to Henry Null in 1892. The family lived on farms in the Onslow neighborhood. Following the death of Mr. Null, Mrs. Null came to Monticello and resided on Cherry street. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Null, five of whom preceded their mother in death. The survivors are: William H. Null, Garden Grove, Calif.; Elwill and Orlando Null, Monticello; and Lawrence Null, Rockford, Ill. Mrs. Null is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Fred Reuter of Monticello, ten grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
She lived alone and died from a heart attack, probably last Thursday. She was found by a neighbor Friday morning at 10 a.m.
