Samuel Townsend

(Abt 1638 - 21 Dec 1704)

Samuel Townsend born in Lynn & settled in Chelsea, Mass. Samuel Townsend of Winnisimmet occupied the Townsend of Cary Farm of about 365 acres from at least 1663 til his death in 1704 (Chamberlain 305). Samuel joined the Boston church September 18, 1681; was freeman in 1683, held various town offices, and died December 21, 1704 (306). When his estate was settled May 17, 1708, seven children were living, Samuel, Jonathan, Solomon, Elias, Abraham, Isaac, and Anna (307).
