Death
Monticello - Funeral services for Carl Henry Harms, 69, will be held at 1:30 today (Thursday) at Wayne Zion Lutheran church, rural Monticello.he Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Zion cemetery.
Mr. Harms died Sept 7 at John McDonald hospital after a few weeks illness. He was born May 12, 1902 near Monticello, son of John H. and Helena Holst Harms.
He was married Jan 27, 1925 to Mary G. Lurkens. They farmed near Monticello until March 1953 when they moved to Monticello. Mr. Harms was then employed by Iowa State Reformatory for 13 years.
Surviving are his wife and two children, Mrs. Raymond (Evalena) Poppe and Willis C., all of Monticello; three grandchildren; a twin brother, Edward W of Anamosa; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Pillard, Anamosa and Mrs. Raymond Kromminga, Monticello.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents and one brother.
