MONTICELLO--Funeral services for Hei Schoon, 83, were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran church with the Rev. Anton Klrkegaard in charge. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Schoon died at his home Friday, Jan. 18, after a long Illness. Born Feb. 11, 1879 at Greenview, Ill., he was the son of Garrett and Gebke Behrends Schoon. He moved to Iowa with his parents and lived in Wayne township until he moved to Monticello in 1930.
On Sept. 2S, 1935, he was married to Rena Arnold Lehmann of Monticello. They continued to make their home here. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran church.
Survivors include his wife Rena of Monticello; one stepson, Earl Lehmann of Monticello; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lyman (Ida) Mulford.
Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Alva (Laura) Hinrichs, Monticello; two brothers, George and John, of Monticello; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Pallbearers included George C, Schoon, Raymond Schoon, Carl Schoon, Donald Schoon, Gerald Schoon and Richard Schoon.
