SOURCE: THE MONTICELLO EXPRESS...PAGE 3....JULY 13, 1882DIED NULL - Saturday, July 1, 1882, at his farm residence, two miles east of Monticello, of old age and debility
Mr. Null was born at Etzel, Hanover, July 4th, 1804, and was therefore 78 years of age. He was buried upon his 78th birthday. He came to America Sept 1st, 1856, locating at Dixon, Ills., where he lived 9 years. In December 1805, he came to Iowa, and settled upon the farm upon which he died. He was industrious, prudent, honest, like all his class of Germans. He was a member of the Lutheran church, and an upright and consistent man. He accumulated considerable property, and leaves his family in good pecuniary circumstances. He was quiet and unobtrusive, but one of those men who contributed so much to the development of a new country. A worthy and useful citizen has lain down to rest.
