Adam Prouty

"Richard Prouty, the founder of the family in America, came from England in the year 1667, at the age of fourteen, and d. Sept 1., 1708. He was a resident of Scituate, Plymouth Colony, Mass., when the Indian conflict known as King Phillip's War was raging, and did a brave defender's part in repelling the cruel foe.
Isaac, the fourth son of Richard, was a wealthy farmer and the father of 12 children. Adam, the 5th son of Isaac, was the father of 15 children. He served in the French and Indian wars.
