Miles Briscoe Chenoweth

Miles B. Chenoweth; P. 0. Chambersburg; was born in 1827 in Bartholomew Co., MD. His parents, Abraham and Rachel Chenoweth, were both natives of Kentucky; they moved to Clinton Co., MD, in the fall of 1832, and in 1836 to Pike county, Ill., where our subject grew to manhood arid embarked in farming; in 1848 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna E. Allen, a native of Madison Co., N. Y. born April 7, 1830, and they are the parents of 4 children. They have been members of the Christian Church for 35 years, and in all public enterprises Mr. C. is very liberal.
