Abraham Chenoweth

(27 Dec 1785 - 10 Apr 1861)

Abraham was a pioneer of the Pike Co., Illinois settlement along with two of his brothers; Jacob and James Hackley. He and Rachel emigrated to Pike Co. IL Nov 16, 1836 and settled one mile east of Perry. Their son, H J Chenoweth, started the first hotel in Perry in 1872. Abraham was a skilled mechanic and tanner.
