Dr. William Bradwell Ioor

The Ioor and Waring families intermarried and originally lived in Dorchester County. The Ioor family is from Holland by way of France. William was a Dr. and they lived in Dorchester County, Charleston, Savannah, GA and ended up in the upstate of SC in Greenville at their home place called Dolche Sperande. Wm. Ioor and Ann Mathewes had 11 children. (Nancy Peeples)

A Charleston author and playwright who moved to Greenville for a simpler, less expensive life style and perhaps to escape his creditors. There's more info about the family at the Caroliniana Library at the University of SC.

The Ioor family had one or more plantations in St. Georges, Dorchester, Parish northwest of Charleston for decades.
