Individual Details

John H. Barfield

(Abt 1844 - 6 Dec 1926)

Carl Winter's grandfather and his Great Aunt Thelma both stated that John Barfield was a shoemaker who died in the Confederate home in Austin, Texas. They said Mary Barfield (Hughes) died in the women's home there. He has the applications for military pension and widow's pension, and the death certificates from the home.

This John might be the one who married Mary Jane Hughes, Pauline's daughter. They were both born in 1844, and Pauline states that her daughter married her cousin. This John and Pauline are first cousins.
