Marriage
Miss Blanche Eilers and Arthur Hanssen were married last evening, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eilers by Rev. M. A. Breed, in the presence of an invited company of relatives. Mrs. Hanssen is a graduate of the Monticello high school of the class of 1907. She made a good record as a student, and has the practical qualities so admirable in a good wife, and of this the groom cannot fail to note. Mr. Hanssen is a member of the firm of Hanssen Bros., general contractors. He is a bright and promising business man of acute perceptions and unusually sound judgment. Prospects are bright for the young couple, and we trust that they may always be so.Census (family)

Mrs. Hanssen Buried Tues.Funeral Services Held At Congregational Church
The unexpected death of Mrs. Arthur Hanssen occurred at the John McDonald hospital Friday at 4 a.m. She had been ill with pneumonia. Funeral services were held at the Goettsch funeral home at 1:30 Tuesday and from the Congregational church at 2 o'clock. Rev. Homer Dalrymple, Congregational minister, officiated. Burial was made at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Hanssen was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eilers. Her maiden name was Blanche Margaret Eilers. She was born in Monticello Nov. 9, 1887, and died at the age of 54 years, 4 months and 18 days. She was married to Arthur Hanssen, Dec 22, 1909, and was a graduate of the Monticello public schools with the class of 1907.
Nine children were born to this union, six daughters and three sons, viz., Mrs. Derwood Coffin, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. James Starkey, Monticello; Pvt. Otto Hanssen, Fort Dix, N.J.; Paul Hanssen, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Charles Higley, Anamosa; Dorothy and George, at home.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters: Herman Eilers, Cedar Rapids: Grant Eilers, Anamosa: Irving Eilers, Center Junction: Paul Eilers, Langworthy: Mrs. Lou King, Lamont, and Mrs. Louis Heiken, Hopkinton.
