The 1900 census says Anton is married, 1 1/2 years, but he is living with his parents and his wife is not listed with him. Apparently they separated soon after marriage.

Anton Eilers and Rose Eilers were divorced at the last term of court, on the cross petition of Mr. Eilers alleging desertion. Mrs. Eilers was granted the privilege of using her maiden name, Rose Yunker.

Death

"Tony" Eilers Found Dead.
"Tony" Eilers was discovered dead in his home in the southern part of Monticello, last evening at five o'clock. He had not been seen by neighbors since Monday morning, and it is supposed that he had been dead for two days when he was found. He had been in bed and had gotten out of bed when he must have been taken with severe pains in his stomach, and fell in a crouching position over a chair near the door of his home. It was In this position that his nephew, Paul Eilers found him.
It was through the efforts of Frank Page and Henry Chalaupka that a search for "Tony" was instituted. He spent a portion of every day at the Page garage, and his presence was missed. He had been helping his brother, W. G. Eilers sell brooms in Hopkinton, last week, and had expected to make his home with his nephew, Grant Eilers after March 1st. His friends thought he might have gone out to his nephew's. But it was learned that he was not there. A search was made, and the house was found closed. It was necessary to break into the house and the dead body was found. He had not been well for some time, and had complained of terrible pains in his stomach.
Anton Eilers was a son of Gerhard and Margaret Eilers, and was born in Lovell township sixty years ago. He is survived by the following brothers: Henry who lives south of Monticello, W. G. Eilers, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Dr. Paul fillers of Quinlan, Oklahoma. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Reformed church. They will be conducted by the pastor of that church, Rev. R. P. Kuntzel. Burial will be had at Oakwood cemetery.

To all whom it may concern: Whereas, on the 18th day of February A. D 1920, a paper purporting to be the last will and testament of Anton Eilers late of said county, deceased, was filed in my office, and was by me opened and read; and the 22nd day of March, 1920, is appointed and fixed as the time when the same will come before the court, at the March term thereof then to he held, for final proof and probate, as the duly executed last will and testament of the said Anton Eilers deceased ; at which time all persons interested may appear and show cause why the same: should not be admitted to probate.

that said deceased left him surviving the following next of kin, each of whom has a right to a grant of administration upon the estate of said deceased, which is, by law, equal to that of the appointee hereinafter proposed:
